We are committed to protecting your privacy while delivering a modern, flexible, and efficient video hosting interface through our “Bring Your Own Key” (BYOK) model using third-party providers like Bunny.net and MUX.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share your personal information. It also outlines your rights and our responsibilities, particularly around sensitive areas like video content, third-party API integrations, viewer analytics, and account deletion.

1. What This Policy Covers

This Privacy Policy applies to:

• Users of the Skippz platform (both free and paid)
• Viewers accessing video content hosted via Skippz interfaces
• Interactions with our website, app, and support channels

2. What We Collect

User Information

We collect the following personal information when you create a Skippz account or use our services:

• Full name
• Email address
• Profile photo (optional)
• Company name and billing address (for invoicing purposes)

All billing data, including credit card details, are processed securely through Stripe.

Skippz does not store your payment credentials.

Video-Related Information

While your actual videos are stored in your own accounts (e.g., MUX or Bunny.net), we collect and store: 

• Video titles, descriptions, tags, duration, and folder organization
• Upload dates and linked user ID
• Custom watermarks or branding assets uploaded to Skippz
• Playback settings and visibility controls
• Basic status metadata (e.g., processing, encoding duration)

⚠️ Important: We do not store or control your actual video files. You maintain full ownership and responsibility of your storage accounts. We simply act as an interface to manage them.

3. Viewer Analytics & Tracking

When viewers watch videos through Skippz players, we may collect:

• IP address and general geolocation
• Device type, browser type
• Playback behaviors (e.g., duration watched, drop-off points)

This data is collected solely to provide video owners with performance analytics and to help improve the Skippz platform.

4. Cookies & Third-Party Tools

We use cookies and tracking tools only when:

A user is logged in

• A viewer accesses a Skippz-hosted video

Tools we use:

• Google Analytics 4 (GA4)
• Hotjar (for behavioral analysis)

You can opt out of these tools by adjusting your browser settings or using cookie management tools. However, doing so may limit the platform’s functionality.

5. AI Features (Current & Future)

As of today, we do not process personal data using AI. However, upcoming features (such as auto-captioning) may involve AI models like OpenAI Whisper. Any data processed through such tools will be subject to the provider’s privacy practices and will be clearly disclosed at the time of usage.

6. Third-Party Integrations

Skippz integrates with third-party APIs and tools to enable our services:

• MUX and Bunny.net: For video storage, delivery, and streaming
• Stripe: For secure billing and payment processing

We do not access or store credentials of your Bunny/MUX accounts. We act as an authorized agent via API to allow you to manage your content within their environment.

7. Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) Responsibilities

Skippz operates under a BYOK model. Here’s what that means:

• Your Storage, Your Control: All video files are stored in your connected accounts (e.g., Bunny or MUX).
• Limited Access: Skippz can only manage videos uploaded through Skippz. If you upload files directly to your Bunny/MUX account, they may be affected by our disconnection/deletion tools if they reside in Skippz-created libraries.
• No Liability for Deletion: Skippz is not liable for any deletion of videos—whether initiated manually by you or resulting from provider-side actions. If you choose to disconnect Skippz, we provide options to delete branding assets from:

– Skippz only

– Both Skippz and your storage provider

By using Skippz, you acknowledge that you are fully responsible for your video files stored externally.

8. Account Deletion & Data Retention

You can request account deletion at any time by contacting support. Upon deletion:

All personal info, video metadata, branding assets, and cached data will be permanently removed.

Videos in your own Bunny/MUX accounts will remain untouched unless you opt for the “delete from both” option during API disconnection.

⚠️ We do not retain your data after account deletion. This process is irreversible.

9. Prohibited Content & Provider Terms

You may not use Skippz to upload, manage, or stream any content that is:

• Pirated, infringing, or violates copyright laws
• Defamatory, hateful, or promotes violence
• Sexually explicit or illegal under applicable laws
• In violation of any applicable MUX or Bunny.net terms of service

⚠️ Important: Skippz provides an interface to manage your video content hosted on third-party platforms like MUX or Bunny.net, but we do not have direct access to the actual video files.

As such:

• You are solely responsible for ensuring your content complies with the terms and acceptable use policies of your selected video provider.
• Violations of their terms may result in account suspension, deletion of content, or legal action initiated by those providers — not Skippz.
• Skippz is not liable for any content takedown, data loss, or legal consequences arising from third-party platform actions.

If your account is found to be repeatedly used for illegal or prohibited activities, we reserve the right to suspend or disable your access to Skippz, regardless of your connected provider.

10. International Users & Legal Jurisdiction

Skippz is operated by Avlanche Pty Ltd in Australia, but we serve users globally.

We strive to meet international standards, including:

• General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for EU users
• California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) for California residents
